What is Tinker?
Tinker is a new service that helps you stay on top of your favorite events by showing you the latest buzz from Twitter. Simply choose a keyword, and create an Event Stream. An event could be a movie premiere, a book launch, a Superbowl party, or an episode of Lost. It’s up to you.
How does it work?
Tinker pulls in all the relevant tweets from Twitter around a keyword that you define.
What will Tinker do for me?
Tinker helps you stay on top of the latest buzz about your favorite events.
You can also use Tinker to help promote your own events (or product launches) by putting an embeddable widget version of your Event Stream on your website or profile page. The embeddable Tinker widget even lets users tweet directly on your site.
What’s an Event Stream?
An Event Stream displays all the relevant tweets around the keyword that you choose.
How do I sign up?
Enter your name, email address, and choose a password. You’ll use your email address and password to log in to Tinker. We also ask for your Twitter account to show your Twitter profile and tweets from the people you are following.
How do I create a stream?
Go to our Create Event Stream page and answer a few questions about your event, then you’re done!
Can I put an event stream on my own site?
Yes. Tinker lets you put an embeddable version of your Event Stream on your own blog, site, or profile page. Your friends or users can log in with their Twitter accounts and tweet directly in the embeddable module.
Do I need a Twitter account to join Tinker?
Yes, you need a Twitter account to join Tinker. If you don’t have a Twitter account yet, go get one, then come back and Tinker.

Can people comment on an event on Tinker?
Yes!
When I update my status on Twitter, does this update Event Streams on Tinker?
Yes, if your tweet includes the relevant keyword for a Tinker Event Stream. For example, if you wrote a tweet about #Lost, it will show up in a #Lost Event Stream.
If someone adds a tweet on my embedded Event Stream, will it appear on Twitter and Tinker?
Yes.
Can I block profanity from my Event Stream?
When you create your Event Stream, you can make it profanity-free. You can also specify words that you don’t want to be included in your event stream.
Can I block users from tweeting on an Event Stream?
Yes. When you create your Event Stream, you can specify users whose tweets you don’t want included.
Why are some events marked featured?
Events created by Micro-bloggers who are part of the Tinker Micro Blogging Network are featured. Members of the network also get advanced functionality in creating events.
