As we approach the anniversary of the launch of Tinker, we’d like to give you the latest on what’s been happening in the world of Tinker.
Here’s a brief recap of what we’ve been up to and how these new features benefit publishers and users like you…
• New Content Sources: Previously, Tinker feeds and widgets only aggregated content from Twitter. Now Tinker widgets and feeds showcase content/posts from YouTube, Flickr, FriendFeed and Facebook. These additional feeds make for a more robust content offering and provide publishers and users with greater contextual relevancy.
• New Create Flow: We have streamlined the event creation process and simplified creating Tinker widgets. The new create flow is now more intuitive, user friendly and highlights the importance of customization.
• Tinker Plug-in: We are rolling out a WordPress Tinker Plugin. The plugin will have the same features and functionality as Tinker.com but publishers now won’t have to leave the Wordpress interface. This makes for easier Tinker integration to publisher sites and further streamlines the process. We plan to build plug-ins for blogger, typepad, ning and other popular blogging solutions that our publishers are using.
• Functionality Highlights: In the Profile Selection, you can now feature a select user and display their tweets within a widget or an event detail page. Additionally, users have the ability to curate using Twitter Lists and Groups. restricting your event or widget to a set of predefined users
• Facebook Connect, FriendFeed and Myspace OAuth: Tinker now has deep integration with Facebook, Friendfeed and MySpace. A user can now login to Tinker.com and any widget via these social mediums. Users will now be able to post to their wall, update their status and view their newsfeed alongside their Twitter updates.
Phew! Now we’d like to hear from YOU! What features or functionality would you like to see from Tinker? Leave comments here or email us at support@tinker.com
